This is what I call LOVE!

As I mentioned in my last post (in portuguese) I met many interesting people at my father-in-law's wedding. Two of these people had the most incredible love story I had ever heard! I will use fake names to preserve their identities but the story is real!


Jennifer is now 39 years old, she is married to Jon, and they both have two beautiful kids (their girl was the flower girl at my father-in-law's wedding and their boy was the ring boy).

In 1996 Jennifer and Jon were newlyweds. They had been married for 18 months when they got into a car accident. It was such an ugly and traumatizing accident. Jennifer suffered extensive brain damage which made her lose her memory. She could not remember anything in the period of 2 years before the accident. She remembered everything before those 2 years but could not remember anything during that period until the accident. She didn't remember her own wedding! She remembered her husband but didn't remember she had gotten married to him. It was like he was a stranger to her.

Jon didn't get hurt from the accident, he was ok. But can you imagine how hard it was for him to know his wife had lost her memory and that he was a stranger to her??

Jennifer had to go through surgeries and a lot of therapy... but still, she could not remember anything. Jon did not give up on her though. He did what not many men would do: He decided to win her back!

He started dating her all over again!! It was all new again. He made her fall in love with him again, they dated, and got engaged (again) and 3 years after the accident they Remarried each other!! It was not easy for Jon, but he never gave up. Now they are a happy couple with two beautiful kids. Jennifer still doesn't remember antything from those 2 years before the accident, but it doesn't matter anymore, because she is healthy and happy.

This was such big news at the time that they both went to Oprah to talk about their story. And Hollywood got a hold of them a few years ago. Their story is being an inspiration to a Movie. The movie is still in development though.

Isn't this an amazing story? This man did everything all over again to be with the woman he loved (and still loves), it took time but in the end, love succeeded.

Not many people would do the same.
